Living at the St. Frances Convent on Brentwood Avenue, Sister Brenda dedicated herself to serving the community in various capacities. Throughout her time in Johnston Square, Sister Brenda ran tutoring programs, provided nutritional services, and organized after-school activities for the youth in the neighborhood. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of the community's children made her a cherished figure in Johnston Square. Sister Brenda's journey began when she professed her vows to Christ and the Oblate Sisters of Providence as a young teenager. In 2022, she celebrated her 75th year as an Oblate Sister, a testament to her lifelong dedication to serving others. Affectionately known as “The Mayor of Brentwood Village,” Sister Brenda was a quiet yet powerful force for positive change in the City of Baltimore. Her passion for those living nearby made her an equally courageous voice of advocacy for the surrounding community.
